Homework #8 Crit

Partners: David Garcia and Nyasia Viera

To start with I'm doing a critique on David's poster. The image of him with the sword immediately catches my eye. This image has the ability to catch others attention as well. The blood that he added on his face was a creative touch in my opinion. Also, the background just paints a picture for the whole movie. When I first saw it it made me visualize what the movie could possibly be about.
One thing that I feel that he should have added was more text. For example something like "in theaters Friday" or the movie credits just to make it feel like a everyday movie poster. Another thing I want to point out is that I think that he should've used a different font for the title. I say this because the font doesn't really go with the overall theme that the poster is trying to convey.
For Nyasia's poster, the title with the finger immediately grabs my focus. The touch that she added with the finger really brought out the title. The art style that is on the poster is great and it really makes a nice poster. It's also just visually appealing. This poster is very well made, however, if more time was spent on it it could be even better.

Homework #7 Response  I think it's interesting to see the TED talker talk about how he creates a poster. The way he creates a poster is how most graphic designers today make posters which is by experimenting with ideas. The speaker showed 10 different posters that he submitted and by doing so I got to see how he experimented with design choices. I think that it's really cool that he experimented with design and made interesting posters that grab your focus. He also talked about explaining your design and what you did and I just want to add that it's important that you do so that people can see what your thought process was while you were designing.
