Homework #3 Response         This article focused on an interview with a chief designer for Nike who has dyslexia. He talked about how he works with his dyslexia when designing shoes for the company. He draws sketches of the shoes that he wants to design. This is also how he navigates through the world on a day to day basis. I personally think that it is beneficial for Nike to have him as their chief designer. I say this because he designs a lot of the shoes for them and his designs are useful for the company. Also I think that it is wonderful that he is able to work with his dyslexia. It shows that he is a dedicated designer who takes his job seriously. Furthermore, this could be motivating to his 1,000 other designers.

Homework #2 Response       My take on the video was that the speaker had a mission to follow one career but ended up in something different. The speaker talked about how he had a passion for airplanes and how he used to draw airplanes. He wanted to design airplanes as a career. However, he gave up that dream to become a designer. He showed his audience a chair that he worked on for several years. He talked about all the fundamentals of his chair and also included how the human body works with it. I think that it's cool that he designed the chair and that he made it extremely functional for anyone. This way, anyone can be comfortable with the design that he worked so hard on. I also think that going through the process of going to career to career was worth it for him and for us.

Homework #1 Response                    This article basically gave an emphasis on some design fails that took place and that are currently taking place.  These fails happened while trying to create "new and improved" designs, which don't actually look that way. They just look less appealing than the original. I think that when companies try to make new designs they should really take their time with them. They should try to make it more creative when designing them. When you are trying to design something new, it should be an improvement from your previous design. Not a step down. I say this because your design represent your skills and possibly your company look. The designs should be creative and appealing. While also being easy to understand. So, companies have to consider a lot of things when trying to make new designs and I think they should take their time with it to make it look their best.
